Lots of folks think that the only way to build your list is by using a squeeze page.
Not so!
Another very powerful way is by frequenting forums.
By that, I mean becoming part of the “group,” not merely plunking in spammy drive-by postings. That’s the wrong way. You have to spend some time and work your way in.
Part of the forum is usually for introductions. Be sure to introduce yourself before posting, or people that are “regulars” at the forum may not like it.
Then, read some of the posts, get a feel for the tone of the forum before you start posting, too. And be sure to follow all the rules. Otherwise, you could be sent out with your butt aflame.
That’s not to scare you away from forums because in the Internet Marketing world, most forums are pretty civilized. And they can give you a great advantage.
Forums generally allow you to set up a profile and a signature. That includes not only your name, but a link to your list-building squeeze page. Here’s an example:

MyFirstList.com
If you write some good posts, and add something to the group, watch and see how many clicks you get and how many more people join your list.
Another advantage to posting is that your signature line stays on every post you make. So, if you make 1,000 posts over time, you’ll have 1,000 links to your squeeze page in that forum, continuing to build your list.
List Building isn’t only about driving traffic to a squeeze page, and we’ll talk more about them next time.

I have developed a Super Signature. One signature in the forum that webs out to as many links as you need.
One of the biggest problems with signature links is that you have to change it each time you want to promote something different.
Sure you can promote your list and then hope they will join the list and then get the information somehow, but often you want to send them right to the link that is going to quench their thirst.
When they know you have cool water to drink they will then want to join the list and be eager for more of what they are thirsty for.
Contrary to my own advice I am going to ask folks to join my blog and then I will tell them how to create a Super Signature.
Thanks Tellman, you continue to inspire me…especially your Santa suit that is crazy fun.
Enjoy,
Chris Titan
P.S. If you did not see Santa Tellmen yet!!!
