We all could use more traffic. And Targeted traffic is the icing on the cake.
That’s where Bonus Traffic comes in.
There are many variations of Bonus Traffic, but in general it can be explained as a combination of Integration Marketing and common list building.
Integration Marketing is the practice of partnering with someone who already has a download page or membership site. You put an offer for your product or service on their download page. In exchange for them allowing you to do that you’ll give them a generous commission on anything sold from there. This highly effective as it’s targeting proven customers.
Bonus Traffic is somewhat different. With Bonus Traffic you give the person you are partnering with a product or service of yours for FREE. They then put it on their download page or membership site for their members to enjoy. Preferrably this bonus from you is unadvertised, that way the customer is pleasantly suprised when then login to access the product they already purchased.
Once they are logged in they are presented with your product for FREE. This accomplishes several things. One it helps the person you are partnering with gain trust and favor with their customers. They just gave their paying customer something for nothing that they were not expecting! Nobody will complain about that.
It also gives you an opportunity to connect with that customer. Although you didn’t sell them anything you are able to put your product in their lap. If they check out what you have to offer and like it you may very well see business from them down the road.
This is a highly targeted type of traffic. You are doing several things for yourself by giving away a product. You’ll be building trust with people. You’ll also be targeting customers who have already proved they are interested in your niche and have money to spend. It’s the type of customer everyone wants. The ones who aren’t “lurkers” but actually take action and invest in themselves.
Here’s a couple things to keep in mind when you are approaching people to do Bonus Traffic deals. The product you are offering to give away on their download page needs to be butter on their bread. Your product shouldn’t compete with theirs. It needs to accessorize it. If you are partnering with someone who sells material related to taking night photos with digital cameras you could present a product about increasing battery life. Think about how you can help out your partner’s customers.
Put yourself in the shoes of the person you are approaching. If your proposal is win/win for both of you then go for it!
