We all get there at some point in our online businesses. You can’t figure something out. Maybe it’s tech related, maybe you aren’t sure what auto responder to use.
Now some of us more stubborn individuals will say to ourselves, “I’ll be damned if I let this problem get the best of me” then we start the coffee maker and prepare for a long night of trial and error.
For years that was how I operated. There were several reasons for my logic, I thought if I figured it out myself it was the only way to truly learn. I also got a rush out of solving a problem on my own. I also thought being a one man army problem solver was a good skill to develop and would aid me in years to come.
These were all healthy logical reasons to spend crazy amounts of time figuring out things myself, but there was a better way.
Buy a Japanese Robot programmed for Internet Marketing that would do it all for me.
Not sure about that idea? Try this one- ASK FOR HELP
But but but…
I hear ya, I used to feel the same way.
Many people say that if they ask for help and the answer is just handed to them then they don’t remember how to solve it later. As a webmaster I found this to be true myself, if a page wasn’t formatting properly I’d ask for help. Once I found someone who knew the solution and showed me, the page was fixed but when the same problem popped up a week later I would have already forgotten what to do.
When you are running an online business there are so many things to learn it’s impossible to know it all, you HAVE to ask for help.
How do you ask for help but still retain the answers and knowledge you need?
Right after your whiz bang nephew takes 5 minues to fix that stupid page that made you cry all weekend- STOP. Don’t do anything more until you are sure you fully understand the cause and solution to your issue. The key is to write down what you just learned. Use a descriptive title because you’ll have quite a library of these as time goes on, then write step by step what happened and how to fix it. For the more visually minded you could also create a screen capture video where you narrate the problem and solution and show it at the same time on the screen.
Just the act of recording this will help cement what you learned into your brain.
Pretty cool huh?
I know I know, it does feel sooo good when you figure it out yourself. But none of us have extra time to spare, we’re in this Internet Marketing world to make money and the fastest way to do that is to get things done.
Have I convinced you that asking for help is better than buying a Japanese robot to answer all your questions? Great! Right about now you are probably thinking about where and who to ask for assistance. Do you like friendly people who are happy to help you and know the answers to your most pressing online business questions? Of course! Head on over to http://www.listformula.com and sign up.
