One of the first ways Internet marketing webmasters look to monetize their websites or blogs is with Google AdSense. You’ve seen the ads that blend into the page, that seem as if they’re part of the page’s landscape? Those are Google AdSense ads. If you make them part of your website or blog, when someone visits your site and clicks on an ad, you’ll be paid.
Depending upon your niche, this could mean lots of cash. The keyword “golf” for instance is very competitive and advertisers pay between $20,000 and $37,000 a day to have their ads clicked on! If you’re in the golf niche and people are clicking on the ads at your site, you’ll probably make a tidy sum every month.
But maybe you’re in an Internet marketing niche that not many people are looking for. Then, what?
Here are 5 ways to improve your earnings by using AdSense, no matter what Internet marketing niche you’re in:
1. Create a custom palette for your ads, and try to match them to the rest of the text. If your blog’s sidebar is gray, for example, you probably want a gray background and border on the ads so that they blend right in. When the ads look less like ads and more like part of your content, people tend to click more and provide more revenue for you.
2. Put the ads at the top of your pages. Don’t try to hide them. You want them to be where people can see them easily. Just as with Real Estate, in Internet marketing, location, location, location means everything.
3. Use a Google search box. If someone searches from your website or blog, they’ll be shown results pages with Google AdSense on them. You will receive a commission if the searcher clicks on an ad.
4. Earn by referring other Internet marketing webmasters to AdSense. Put a Google AdSense button on your site and when another advertiser signs up and is approved by Google, you’ll be paid.
5. Add You Tube to your AdSense account. Let You Tube provide content for your site along with advertisements. When someone watches the video and clicks on an ad, you’ll be paid again.
All of these are viable ways to receive Internet marketing income using Google ads. If you’re not tech savvy, you can get someone to install it for you, but the directions at Google’s site are pretty complete.
If you’re in Internet marketing, but aren’t involved with the AdSense program yet, I encourage you to try it. You’ll need a website or blog so you’ll have a place to put the ads first. Google won’t approve your account without a site, and you have to stick to the terms of service religiously. Google is pretty strict about where you advertise your website (for example, never put a page with AdSense into any kind of traffic exchange), and never click on your own ads, or you could lose your account forever.
Google AdSense is a great way to monetize your website or blog. Get your account approved, place the ads on your website or blog, and start earning cash. Of course, you’ll need traffic to your site so that the ads can be seen, and you won’t make a fortune overnight. But keep AdSense going and as your website or blog grows, your income will grow with it.

Hi Gaj,
We’ll be adding videos on install AdSense to Tellman’s List Building Club (http://club.myfirstlist.com) in November. Other than that, I can’t really think of any video tutorials.
If you’re in a hurry, you can search for a WordPress template that includes AdSense. That way, you just have to put in your AdSense code and you’re all set, like ProBlogger Clean, for instance. But, I’m not sure that’s up to date. It may not work with the new version of WordPress.
Go over to http://codex.wordpress.org/Templates and serch for “AdSense” see what comes up. I’m sure there’s something that will work for you, and quite easily.
Hope that helps.
