For myself. What most people call or think of as a niche isn't a niche. What you think of as a niche is a topic area or area of interest.

That's a great place to start. Now divide your topic area of interests into categories or segments. These segments or categories are niches.

i.e. Weight lose is a topic area or area of interest.

Weight lose for over 30,
Weight lose for me,
Weight lose for women

They are niches - very broad. You could subdivide them even further.

Thanks

Thanks for the inspiration! I have been meaning to begin to focus on one niche in particular, but my biggest stumbling block has been the lack of action. You post has now motivated me to take action.

I will definitely be joining your club.

I would suggest sticking with your interests, hobbies or the things you actually enjoy reading or writing about. That’s a surefire way to make sure that you continue to blog when all the odds are against you. Even if you don’t make tons of money, at least you’ll enjoy spending your blogging or researching about a topic you really like. That’s important as well. :)
